Fermenting Change: A Slow Food Dinner for the Microbiome

Sunday March 19th join Slow Food Ventura County and a collection of Southern Califonia’s most vital fermenters for a gourmet gathering deciated to the topic of the human microbiome. Chef Michelle Lainez will lead us in locally sourced drinks, appetizers, dinner and dessert out of our beautiful venue – Crafted Kitchen LA.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in a fermenter’s expo providing knowledge and conversation as we examine the influence of fermented foods on the human microbiome.

Slow Food Ventura County has enrolled 50 people in a citizen science study that will monitor their gut bacteria, before and after introducing a collection of locally sourced fermented foods. Participant samples will contribute to two of the current citizen science projects currently underway in the US.(TBA)
