Join Sandor Katz for a fun evening centered around fermentation while celebrating his new book “Fermentation Journeys” and raising money for Growing Gardens.

Sandor Ellix Katz is a fermentation revivalist. A self-taught experimentalist who lives in rural Tennessee, his explorations in fermentation developed out of his overlapping interests in cooking, nutrition, and gardening.

Growing Gardens uses the experience of growing food in schools, backyards and correctional facilities to cultivate healthy, equitable communities. Their work is to ensure that low-income, specifically communities of color have access to healthy and culturally appropriate food right in their backyard and neighborhood. The main pillars of our work are 1) to provide access to healthy food 2) to provide a high quality education that is centered on garden-based and hands-on learning 3) to build and strengthen positive social networks 4) to build leadership opportunities for communities most impacted by institutionalized racism.

At 6pm, Sandor will be demonstrating some traditional fermentation techniques at the Fermenter Workshop. Masks will be required. Please be prepared, as we will be not offering refunds.
