Have fun with fermenting in this briny, boozy, bubbly series of two-part workshops celebrating the magic of fermentation. Together, we’ll meet the friendly microbes that help make gut-healthy ferments and craft cocktails, learn new recipes for seasonal produce and late-night sipping, and build community with other United State Botanical Garden online participants.
Get a dose of history June 12 as artist and enthusiast Shawn Shafner guides you step-by-step in making Sweet & Spicy Dill Green Beans. They’re perfect for snacking at your next picnic or bringing to your family potluck — and an introduction to any brined, lacto-fermented pickle you want to make. Come back June 26 to taste test, troubleshoot, and indulge in the tipsy side of fermentation with mixologist Danny Ronen. We’ll wake up our palates with a cocktail called Last Night I Dreamed; this twist on the margarita is the perfect pair for sipping on a porch and enjoying the shade.
