Informative, hands-on, step-by-step introduction to fermenting foods. We will make several vegetable ferments in the workshop and everyone will leave with jars of fermenting goodness. Expect information on sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha and more. We will also provide samples to try of lots of different fermented foods.
Bring your own jars (wide-mouth) if possible. We will have jars available to purchase for $1. Bring vegetables, such as cabbage (white/purple/nappa), garlic, ginger, onion, hot peppers, beets, carrots, and radishes. If possible bring a sharp knife and cutting board. Also, feel free to bring your own fermented beverage.
