Blue Hill Library

The public is invited to learn how simple it is to make your own kimchi, kefir, and other fermented delicacies, in a workshop at the Blue Hill Public Library on Wednesday, September 18 at 6:00 PM. Fermentation expert and author Sandor Katz will talk about the healing qualities and nutritional importance of live-culture ferments, as well as their illustrious histories and integral roles in human cultural evolution. Participants will be empowered with simple techniques for fermenting these healthful foods right at home.
Sandor Ellix Katz is the author of Wild Fermentation (2003) and the encyclopedic The Art of Fermentation (2012). A self-taught experimentalist and a world leading fermentation expert, Katz lives in rural Tennessee and teaches workshops across North America and beyond.
